My rate is $50 an hour for designing or redesigning web pages. I am able to keep my hourly rate low by having a home
office, keeping my overhead down, and living in a small town. Most important, I work fast and smart.
A good rule of thumb would be between $250 and $450 for the Home Page. (This page normally is the most expensive
since during the creation of the Home Page we also create the background for all pages, logos, the link buttons, and the overall look of the site.) Additional pages normally run around $125 each. Of course,
if, for instance, you are a real estate company and wish to list all your listings, that will increase the cost of those pages.
Approximately $1000 to $1200 would be a good ballpark estimate for most web sites. I will be able to give you a
better estimate once I understand your needs. I have been able to create web sites for as little as $200.
Besides my costs, there are two other costs when creating a web site. There is the cost of registering and
protecting your domain name (e.g. websitedesignbysteve.com). There are many registrars, all doing the same thing. Mainly the only difference is cost. The one I use charges $14.99 a year and is paid to the
registrar. It is much like a DBA. They register your domain name and make sure no one else can use that domain name. I take care of getting this done for you.
The second cost is for a Web Site Host Server. This is the company that hosts your website so it can be seen on the
internet. We can use any host you wish. However, I do have one I use that is extremely reasonable, gives great service, and has a very low down time. I am not connected with them in any way. Whatever Host you
choose, I take care of setting them up and uploading your site to them.
